This is my Seagull Extra 260 with a DLE 30cc gas engine. After the untiemly demise of my H9 Funtana (airframe and engine), I was still craving aerobatics and after seeing how well Tony’s 260 flew I thought I’d give it a try on a slightly smaller scale. With the pain of the recent loss still fresh on my mind, I am flying again, but a bit more cautious this time. I hope this plane lasts a long time. I just need to keep telling myself “keep it high, two mistakes high”! enjoy the video and I’ll see you at the field. Roger
Having fun with the new Funtana 125
Another great time flying with friends. Hope you enjoy the video.
I got a bit of video of Kevin flying his 50 size Raptor for the first time. Looks awesome, great job man.
With this rare white Christmas I just had to try my hand at snow skiing! I slapped some makeshift skis together with flat plasitc and plywood, stuck them on the Nexstar Trainer in place of the weels, and headed for the field. The first attemp didn’t go too well. After take-off, the left ski flipped down like a giant airbrake and resulted in a soft, nose flip landing. I made some adjustments, and the next day it worked much better. Here is some video of its first of two flights.
The front ski still sinks in too much and the prop throws snow all over, and into the carb…choke…choke… But next time it snows I’ll try again….someday.
We need to have a snow-day fly-in next time we get the white cold stuff on the field. Just more fun experiments!! Keep flying. Roger.
This is the maiden flight of my DuraPlane with my converted weedeater gas engine… didn’t do too bad for a free 18cc motor. The plane flies like a brick but I’ve added some ailerons and a tail wheel to improve ground and air control. Some of you were there, and I appreciate your help with parts/prop (Max) and encouraging remarks!! (Bill and the peanut gallery). Its always more fun with an audience!
Enjoy the show.
Some random video and stills of the Fun Fly. Enjoy!
I finally got the landing gear tightened up so I can take-off straight. I was all over the runway and flipping/cartwheeling everywhere- quite humorus for those who were lucky enough to witness it, and share comments and insights about it , thanks Dan. This time I had Zane with me to shoot some more video of it flying so I thought I’d share it with you all. It’s two short flights put to some of my son’s music. hope you enjoy it.
I remaidend my Corsair today, after the tree incident last week, and my son Zane was there to video it. She flew great but landings were terrible in the deep grass and dandylion forrest. I hope you enjoy the video. Roger.
